Manny Ramirez is starting in left field, instead of Carlos Quentin (who is younger, a better defender and having a season that's as good as, if not better, than Manny's). Josh Hamilton (with superior offensive numbers) is in center, over the better defender (Grady Sizemore, with only slightly inferior offensive numbers). Jeter’s the starter at short, in spite of being as poor a defender as ever, with Mike Young (better on both sides of the ball) on the bench. Would you take Kevin Youlikis at first over Justin Morneau? Perhaps, or perhaps not—but Terry Francona must, because The Fans Said So.

But as it turns out, I'm a little bit in love with Carlos Quentin over there in left field. The guy has a cannon and isn't too shabby at the plate.  Though I am a tad concerned with his likeness to Jose Canseco.  I still think we need the speed and hopefully that just ads a whole new attack to our offense. It's a tough decision to make, but after sending Fields down, and the likely optioning of Brian Anderson, Kenny has got to be getting used to giving bad news. And as he always says, these problems are good ones to have.

Carlos Quentin got pulled because of a shoulder. Jerry Owens of course missed that time with a groin, and now is missing more games, which worries me greatly (see end of season ’05 Podsednik). Smoke and mirrors really piss me off. I guess it really is only spring training and I should just let it go.

e than likely he'll at least make the team.  I really want him to have a shot.

Carlos Quentin is HUGE! I don’t recall this guy and certainly not looking like that but seeing him step to the plate recently he looks like he’s got some serious power. I don’t believe he’s actually shown any power yet but I’m just sayin.
